Milla Räisänen (Conference Chair), University of Helsinki, Finland
I am a PhD student at the Centre for Research and Development of Higher Education at the Faculty of Behavioural Sciences at the University of Helsinki, Finland. My PhD dissertation focuses on the development of self- and co-regulation of learning of university students during studies.

Floor Binkhorst, University of Twente, the Netherlands
I am a PhD student at the University of Twente in the Netherlands. My research is focused on Teacher Design Teams (TDTs). In TDTs, secondary school teachers collaborate to design educational materials. TDTs can contribute to teachers’ professional growth and promote successful implementation of educational innovations. My PhD project is aimed at developing a strong theoretical and practical basis for TDTs. This can help us to understand the functioning of TDTs and to improve/optimize future TDTs.

Jerich Faddar, University of Antwerp, Belgium
I am a PhD candidate at the department of Instructional and Educational Sciences (Faculty of Social Sciences) of the University of Antwerp, Belgium. My research interests are situated at the level of educational evaluation, school effectiveness and improvement, and quality assurance in education. Currently, I am working on my PhD dissertation which deals with methodological issues that underlie school self-evaluation instruments.

I am a PhD student in the School of education in the university of Tampere, Finland. My special research interests are cooperative learning methods in adolescents’ education, especially progressive inquiry, self-regulated learning and the psychological development of self-structures. In my dissertation I investigate the cooperative use of a digital learning platform Moodle and an interactive whiteboard, and the use of augmented reality with a tablet computer with an experimental research design.

I am an assistant professor of higher education at the Centre for Research and Development of Higher Education at the University of Helsinki, Finland. My research focuses on student learning in higher education, university teachers’ approaches to teaching and teacher development, assessment of student learning and academic emotions. I am an active member of EARLI, being a member of its Executive Committee and a coordinator of SIG4 Higher Education. In the Executive Committee I hold the JURE portfolio and aim to enhance issues related to JURE.
